"....The Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition applauds the efforts of Commissioner Sparks and everyone involved in the Center for Alternative Fuels at the Department of Agriculture and Industries. The growth of alternative fuels - specifically those produced from agricultural feedstocks - is very important to the economic development of our state. Both biodiesel (from soybeans) and ethanol (from corn) are the primary alternative and renewable fuels benefiting the agricultural industry in Alabama. There are many more agricultural feedstocks being worked on by our Universities....all will benefit domestic energy security, economic development and the environment in Alabama."
