A Clean Day event has been planned for mid-December 2018 in Baldwin County. Contact your local Extension Office for details.
The Clean Day Pesticide Collection Program is conducted as a free service to the citizens of Alabama and is a joint effort between the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. This program allows participants to bring unwanted household hazardous wastes for safe and environmentally sound disposal. Products that will be accepted for disposal include pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and rodenticides. We will accept products that have lost registration, have illegible labels, are out of date, or for any other reason cannot be used by you.
The Clean Day Pesticide Disposal Program is in the planning stages now. Please check back regularly for updates on the time and location of the event, or leave your contact information to receive email updates as they become available.
In 2017, the State of Alabama held two Clean Day events; one in north Alabama (Madison County) which collected 60,375 lbs. and a second in south Alabama (Henry County) which collected 67,095 lbs., for a combined total of 127,470 lbs. of chemicals that were destroyed.
