Who We Are
Children have so much to offer to the world - we believe in the power that they hold, and know that they will mold future generations. The Alabama Invader Raiders is a program developed by the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries' (ADAI) Division of Plant Industry. This program aims to recruit middle school students to assist in the early detection of invasive species in the state and encourage their interest in environmental science. We are here to equip students with the knowledge of invasive species and the negative impact they have on agricultural and our natural resources. The goals of this educational program are to increase student awareness of unintentionally spreading pests, to expand their understanding of plant pests, and to enable them to recognize the negative effects of invasive pests on our environment. The Alabama Invader Raiders will help students develop lifelong skills they need to detect and report invasive species.
