Criminal investigators in this division investigate agricultural crimes such as theft of equipment; livestock and cruelty to large animals. They also enforce all Department of Agriculture regulations, Alabama State Laws, and assist other law enforcement agencies throughout the state. Headed by Chief Bob Holley the Investigative Division has full-time police officers who are fully sworn to uphold all Alabama State Laws.
$1,000 Reward Offered
Following recent events in Chambers, Clay, and Franklin Counties involving theft of cattle and farm equipment, the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association is sending out notices across the region that the association will pay a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and final conviction of anyone stealing or destroying cattle belonging to a member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association. Anyone is eligible for this reward if the following conditions are met: The owner of the stolen/destroyed cattle must be a member in good standing of the Alabama Cattlemen's Association. - One or more of the Alabama Cattlemen's Association’s “No Trespassing” signs must have been posted on the farm or ranch where the cattle were stolen.
- No law enforcement officer, stockyard employee, or the owner, part owner, or employee of the cattle stolen will be eligible for the reward.
- Only one reward will be paid for each case even though one or more convictions may be obtained based on the same set of facts.
- The President of the County Cattlemen’s Chapter in which the cattle were stolen must certify that all of these rules and regulations have been complied with.
- Applications for the reward must be filed with the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association within 30 days after the final conviction of the person stealing or destroying the cattle. The Executive Committee of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association shall consider the application for reward and the decision of the Executive Committee shall be final and binding on all parties.
