Landshire is initiating a voluntary recall of 1,751 cases of the Nike All-American sandwich because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes.

Statewide Recall Issued for Quaker Oats Snack Bars
A statewide recall has been issued for a brand of Quaker Oats snack bars, according to an advisory issued today by the Food Safety Division of the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries. Quaker Oats Company, a division of PepsiCo, has issued a voluntary recall of 8-count Quaker Chewy Smashbar Graham Pretzel snack bars due to an undeclared milk allergen that is not noted on the label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk products run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

February 22, 2011 - Alabama bans possession, manufacture and distribution of so-called ‘bath salts’

Two dangerous chemicals which are being marketed as “bath salts” are being added to the Alabama Controlled Substances List by emergency rule. This means that possession, manufacture, or distribution of these substances is now illegal. The Alabama Department of Public Health received information from members of the Legislature, the law enforcement community, and the public about dangers from these synthetic substances. January 18, 2011 - McMillan Advises Public to Report Wild Bird Die-offs to Appropriate Agencies

MONTGOMERY – Agriculture & Industries Commissioner John McMillan is advising the public to report any large scale wild bird die-offs in their area to the appropriate agencies. There have been two wild bird die-offs reported in Alabama since December 12; one in Limestone County and one in Jackson County. Samples from the clusters of the dead birds will be tested at the State Diagnostic Lab in Auburn, Alabama in an attempt to determine the cause of death. August 10, 2010 - CONSUMER ALERT: EPA Advises Care When Selecting Pesticides for Bedbug Control

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants to alert consumers that there has been an increase of individuals or companies who offer to control bedbugs with unrealistic promises of effectiveness or low cost. Because bed bug infestations are so difficult to control, there have been situations where pesticides that are not intended for indoor residential applications have been improperly used or applied at greater rates than the label allows. While controlling bedbugs is challenging, consumers should never use, or allow anyone else to use, a pesticide indoors that is intended for outdoor use, as indicated on the label. Using the wrong pesticide or using it incorrectly to treat for bedbugs can make you, your family, and your pets sick. Statewide Recall Issued for Quaker Oats Snack Bars
A statewide recall has been issued for a brand of Quaker Oats snack bars, according to an advisory issued today by the Food Safety Division of the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries. Quaker Oats Company, a division of PepsiCo, has issued a voluntary recall of 8-count Quaker Chewy Smashbar Graham Pretzel snack bars due to an undeclared milk allergen that is not noted on the label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk products run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
