Alabama Agricultural Development Authority
AADA was established in 1980 by the Alabama Legislature to promote agriculture and to finance agricultural businesses in Alabama. Currently, the AMPP loan program is being administered by AADA. AMPP loan applications are anticipated to open for second round of acceptance starting in April 15th.
Alabama Meat Processing Program
AADA’s mission for the USDA-AMPP is to boost rural economic development by financing small business owners who are expanding or starting a slaughter or processing facility within Alabama. AADA’s end goal of the AMPP is to facilitate the start-up and expansion of small and medium sized slaughter and processing plants. “This will positively impact everyone within the food supply chain from the farmer to the slaughter & processing facility, and the consumer, says Commissioner Rick Pate.”
We are excited and honored to be one of the few recipients by USDA.
AMPP provides grant funding to non-profit intermediary lenders to finance the establishment, expansion, or operation or meat and poultry processing facilities. Together with this award, USDA provided $88.6 million to nine nonprofits in seven states.
