The biennial food facility registration renewal period is open until December 31, 2020. This is the time for:
- Animal food facilities to renew their food facility registration
- Animal food facilities that are qualified facilities to resubmit their qualified facility attestation.
If you are the owner, operator, or agent in charge of either a domestic or foreign facility that is engaged in manufacturing/processing, packing, or holding of food for human or animal consumption in the United States, you must register your food facility with FDA, unless you are exempt under 21 CFR 1.226 from the requirement to register. And each registered food facility must renew their registration every two years.
During the biennial food facility registration period, this is also the window to re-submit your attestation if your facility meets the definition in 21 CFR 507.3 to be considered a qualified facility.
