On a daily basis, the regional laboratories receive and collect samples, and forward them to the Auburn laboratory for Histopathology, Virology and Molecular Detection, Toxicology, and other Serology. The results are reported back to the regional laboratories to complete the case investigation.
All of the laboratories accept specimens for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) and chronic wasting disease of deer (CWD). Samples are collected and forwarded to the appropriate laboratory for certified testing.
